I have a '69 911T and thought the same thing about the overall look of the car. I was going for an understated retrorod look and the Fuchs just didn't work. I looked into the aluminum replicas from Coddington but they are some serious $$$$. I ended up powder coating my original 5 1/2" steelies with a "chrome" powder and they turned out great for my car. I was a little concerned at first because powder coat can't give a true chrome but they ended up actually better to me. They're a little more muted than real chrome but they definitely don't look like silver paint. They actually kind of look like polished aluminum.
