Jacuzzi toilets?
I had no idea Jacuzzi made toilets. It appears they decided, after turning the simple tub of water into an engineering nightmare they would apply their evil genius to the basic toilet.
My poor hapless neighbor had a toilet emergency the day after Thanksgiving. The flush valve was leaking - a lot.
So fool that I am I volunteered to fix the damn thing, thinking, "It's a toilet, what can be so hard?"
Jacuzzi - that's what can be so hard.
First, it has a 4 inch flush valve, while most are 2 inch and really good ones (Toto!) are 3 inch. If you require a 4 inch flush valve on your toilet you are either trying get rid of a cat or you have a GI problem that needs a doctor, not a plumber.
But I digress.
Three hardware stores later - in the midst of Black Friday traffic - I finally find a Korky "Universal! Doesn't fit anything right" valve kit that claims to work on a Jacuzzi. It didn't. Long story short after mounting and unmounting the tank twice I ended up soaking wet and having to re-use the old spud washer because the Korky universal wasn't universal enough to not leak. I finally finished about 6 o'clock.
So I missed a lot of football and leftover turkey sandwiches, but I did the right thing which I guess is in the spirit of the season.
I think my neighbor's cat tried to bite me on the way out the door.
