As my dad aged, his skin became almost translucent. And while his kitty "Scooter" was alive, Scooter would scratch the crap out of his hands and forearms. My dad didn't care though because Scooter was what he had and was more important. So he endured all the scratches and bleeding.

when i lived in el paso..i became friends with the old man across the street. his hand-skin was like tissue paper. i watched him hook his hand on a nail he used to hang things..it cut and peeled back the back of his hand like cutting phillo dough..i screamed and applied pressure. it was a gusher, he said it didnt hurt and took the entire event in stride. i on the other hand - i almost fainted. it was the first time seeing such thin skin.
i will wear gloves...damn. my senior years look brutal.
