I suppose?
My kids, 13 and 15 want to come riding with me. My problem is I go too far and too fast for their lazy asses. My older one tries and isn't afraid to give it a go and try and make this old man look bad. My younger is a complete wuss. On a longer hill, he calls quit early. I bought him an E bike. Now he's all smiles. The two of us just did a night rides to the Rosebowl and did a couple laps (3 miles) around the golf course in pitch darkness with our bike lights on full blast. We had a blast too. That's a 25 mile ride total. He kicked my fat ass in that thing going up there through the hills. Its pedal assisted but it has a throttle too.
Oh, those MTB are bad ass man. I think they are all pedal assist, higher end ones anyway. I rode a friend's HAI Bike up to Angeles Crest only on the trail and forest roads. 8 miles straight up, steep too. I have done it only twice when I was a young buck in my old hard tail and it took just under two hours. Now, forget it. With the HAI bike, we drain the battery but get up ther ein under an hour. Fun stuff. These are fat tires, full suspension so rolling over ruts and bigger rocks is not an issue.
