Old thread but I am surprised to hear you say that. I have both turbo and C2 and owned many earlier cars. Other than my 3.0RS tribute and maybe my 911E I never found the earlier cars worth much. Agreed in stock form the 964 is lacking but with some mods and suspension work IMO it is the best air-cooled made by Porsche. You couldn't get me back in an earlier 911 again. Just don't have the build and tub strength of a 964.
