For that budget you can get a later model Mustang. They look like sex and get great reviews. A newer 2+2 seems to fit your needs better than a classic. I’d surely hesitate to put my young children in the back of an early Mustang, even though they’re an icon of an icon.
One of the larger engines 3 Series should also be on the short list. Fun to be in and even more fun to drive.
