There's an argument to be made that the death of Brian Epstein (or the arrival of Yoko Ono) were more instrumental (ha ha) in driving the Beatles apart than fame and fortune. One theory is that while Paul took on the leadership role in the vacuum left by the death of Brian - and not feeling the support that he thought was his due from the other three; George was trying to make his own way as a songwriter, and was miffed that John and Paul still got all the tracks on the albums; John was just fed up with being a Beatle in spite of Pauls desperate desire to keep the band together and Ringo was drinking extremely heavily in order to block the frustration.

All that said, the movie "Let it Be" which also documents the same time period shows a group of four men and one woman who can't really stand to be in the same room for all intents and purposes. The five minutes that's shown on the clip of "Get Back" seems to be a different story from the legend. I'm sure that with 55 hours of previously unseen footage of the making of this album, a narrative could be told from any number of perspectives.

Who knows. I'll be interested in seeing the final version.
