I am looking for the piston to cylinder clearance for a 2001 996 3.4l . This is the bore size - piston size. I have seen some referenced as new to be 0.0008" to 0.0012" and even 0.002" . I have Mahle pistons and will be re-coating the skirts. Case bores are being refinishes.

I find a lot of un-certain quotes but no data?

Anyone have any experience or data to share?
I would send the case to L.N. Enginnering for their Billet alloy 3.6 litre sleeves, for a permament fix & upgrade.

. That's what I did to my 2001 engine. 2001 996 engines have the thinnest/weakest cylinder walls of any M96 engine. I have it for sale in the classified forum.
