There's already eBike rentals available in this town. Now there's tourists going 30 mph in a 15, blowing stop signs, running out of power in the back country...
Seems the eBike is just letting those that should have a little motorcycle training to simply zoom all over with zero experience or training.
Is the Schwinn one any good? Because I'm a Schwinn guy.....

I have an acoustic bike, as they are now called, and I bought an ebike a few months ago. I can't seem to find the interest in using the acoustic bike much anymore. Maybe it will wear off, but I doubt it: I am more motivated to ride harder, longer, and farther on my ebike. I am burning more calories and having more fun doing it. My heart rate gets up and stays up. A good ebike AMPLIFIES your power, it doesn't replace it. I can commute and use a little more assist and get a light workout, and still be fresh for the office. I can carry 50 lbs. of groceries and not use a car or any gasoline. If I want to ride to visit a friend and they live 20 miles away, I don't hesitate to take my bike and know I can get there and back without dying.....and again not use any gas.
There have been a number of articles citing data that shows that ebikers ride more often, go greater distances, and burn more calories due to increased usage vs. acoustic bike riders. I'm nearly 55 and I don't care for riding in the cold and the wind, but now with my ebike, I was motivated to purchase cold-weather riding clothes and now I'm oblivious to the wind, and can survive the cold. I never, ever considered Winter riding before my ebike.
It's been a game changer for me. If you are happy on your acoustic bike(s), then it's not for you, but never say never! Your time may come.
