Merry Christmas guys.
I got my wife's email set up fairly easy. The Authentication App is the hardest part to get working right. They just enter the email address and the password, and bam, it is all set up automatically. No mail server or ports to mess with or anything.
I will check with Richard's brother and find out Richard's status.
