I have Goodyear Eagle All Season 215/60 R15 on J7's at the rear of my narrow body 1977. I'm not sure that when I lower it how it's going to fit, and I ground down the inner flare returns years ago. Right now the rear is hovering up in the air after taking weight out of the car so it's not a problem.
My neighbor says we will test fit his old 16" J7's with 225/50 R16 on the rear of my car as they used to fit his stock 1976. I don't see how but have read about others doing it without extreme camber angle.
One would assume if hovering in the 25 inch diameter be it 15R or 16R that 205's will always fit, 215 can fit, and sometimes 225's will fit on a narrow body. The 225's are on a yellow long hood posted in the forum if I recall correctly.
You may need to find a local shop that allows test fitting of rubber.
