During Fox’s broadcast, rules analyst and former NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino couldn’t find much justification for the call and said, “To me this just looks like a tackle and that’s a follow through. And that’s a big, big penalty in this situation.”

And none other than Cousins admitted to Walker that he didn’t see much of a foul, either.

“I said to the player who tackled me, `I don’t necessarily agree with that call, but I’ll take it,’” Cousins told reporters.

Sounds like only the ref making the call Adrian Hill saw this as a penalty.

I'd be checking for bank transfers to his bank account from Las Vegas right about now if I were in authority.

And this is why the Lions cannot win, even when they can win.

I’m not exaggerating when I say it was one of the worst calls I’ve seen while watching football, at any level, over my lifetime. I didn’t have a problem with the lack of a face-guarding call on Anthony Hitchens in the playoff loss at Dallas. And I could even understand how the refs could make a case for the complete-the-process-of-the-catch call against Calvin Johnson................

But this? There seemed to be no evidence to indicate Tracy Walker did anything but tackle Kirk Cousins for a fourth-down stop.

By losing this game, the Lions improved their draft stock — and more than anything, this team needs more talent. On defense. On offense. Everywhere.
