You have to consider will f/glass or c/f lids : they will also let you get rid of /reduce the hinges and the hood shocks etc., so its not just the steel deck-lids that you should put on the scales to compare weight savings. Anyway, it's an easily reversible mod and you can hang the lids in the garage.
I plan to go f/glass front and rear at some point.
Q: W/ Auto-x won't it bump you into a different class, though? The non-stock class..
