I have a 2016 F150 with 3.5 EB. The truck has 75k on the clock, the only problem I've had is a coil pack go out and give an intermittent misfire. Easy change out (these are trucks you can "shade tree mechanic" with some knowledge).
As far as towing, I have a 3k pound trailer that I can pull up The Grapevine on 5 north at 70 mph with room to spare. And that's a steep darn hill.
