I’ve had 2 Tundras, a 2003 and a 2017, and have no complaints about reliability or capability. The '03 was running strong at 180k plus, but it was rusted underneath pretty bad after 14 years. Both are 4x4, used mainly for snow. I used to tow a 1800lb trailer loaded with a 23 hp tractor and snow blade with the 2003. I was out at 4:00 AM to plow the office lot before the snowplows were out. It did a great job on unplowed roads. I've never had either of them off-roading unless you count driving across the pasture.

No experience with the Fords, though I looked at them before buying the 2017 Tundra. I went with the Tundra based on my experience with the '03.
