I see the logic in that, BUT....
If those under 65 are getting the vaccine that is a dose that the more vulnerable older population does not get. It was decided that 65 is the magic age and they have to pick an age. Just like turning 21, there is no transformation of a person the day they turn 21, it is just the age we all agree it the age one can sign a contract, buy booze, and become a full adult.
65 is the age that was picked that people are suddenly "senior citizens" or elderly. Like every other birthday, one feels no different than the day before. Lots of people are married to someone much younger. Usually old guys with younger trophy wives. Just because she is married to a geezer why make her eligible to get a shot that some other 65+ person truly needs?
They (the government) had to draw lines and pick an age to separate the vaccine groups. I am glad I did not have to make those decisions.
We all know the government is a very efficient and has our best interests in mind.
