Guys, sorry to bump a thread that's nearly a decade old, but I'm in the process of trying to install an MSD 6462 in my car, which I understand is a 6AL with built in BTM unit.
The diagram above is very helpful and I ordered a plug from Timmy2 which will help me avoid cutting the harness. The problem I'm having is my MSD box has no "black tach p/u" wire as indicated in the lower middle row of the diagram above. Aside from the heavy ground and power wire, it has the green and violet wires on the right, and and orange, black, red, and white wires on the left.
Am I missing something with my box, or is the above diagram only for use with a tach adapter? My car is an '83 911, so I don't think I use the white wire (I think I understand that's points only).
