$20,000 is more tempting than $35,000 but it is a big project.

It depends where you want to go with it..... back to original could cost you $100,000 in #2 condition...... a sorted and roadworthy #3..... my instinct is to budget $25,000ish with rust repair and panel painting ($unknown), bumpers ($2k) and deck lid change ($500), minor mechanical, brakes etc ($unknown) and an inexpensive interior ($3,000). The car will still have the wrong bright work and be bright yellow.....

I would pass and wait for a better car such as an SC for your first......
