We have two and they get along great, but I think we're lucky.
Twice as much of everything - good and bad. Vet bills, poop, food, chewing things, playing, etc, etc.
Don't let your girlfriend fool herself or you into thinking it will be less work because they will entertain each other.
Again, twice as much of EVERYTHING.
