As fred said, it wont hurt. The main benefit to iridium plugs is longevity.
One thing you may want to research is using a different type of plug with a slightly larger gap. I had a Ranger with the Duratec engine.. used iridium plugs rom the factory. $20 per plug.
I ended up trying a copper core and gapped it a bit larger. There was a noticeable difference in pickup and no change in MPG. Might be something to look into. Only downside is having to change them every 10K miles.
