Hello everyone,
Allow me to share my humble experience with Porsche clock.
My car is a 1987 Carrera 3.2.
I noticed while I was driving that the clock has stopped!
I pulled over on the shoulder and adjusted the clock to the correct time.
It worked perfectly well.
Next day when I entered the car, I found that the clock has stopped again!
To cut it short I've adjusted the time, and it worked pretty well (actually more accurate than my 996 targa!)
I knew that there was nothing wrong with the clock's mechanism, neither with the wirings.
After a few days, I realised that the clock stops working when the outside temperature is approximately below 50° Fahrenheit or 10° Celsius.
The temperatures for the last few days are ranging between 53° - 57° Fahrenheit and the clock is perfectly working like (well) a clock
I honestly don't know the explanation or the reason as to why the clock behaved like this but, I thought by posting my experience some of you will get benefitted and stop thinking of fixing or either replacing his car's clock. and
I wish one or more of the technically genius guys can explain!
Enjoy your Porsches
Fahad
P.S In case, you want to know. I live in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
