I can see the bluffs above Mavericks from my office. On that day I noticed about 20 people standing on the bluff top. I thought about taking the 15-minute walk out there to check it out, but was pretty busy at work, so I stayed in the office. I've gone out plenty of times only to be disappointed by the puny 20-foot waves. Mistake! I don't think I would have gone bankrupt and lost my house and family if I'd taken a couple hours off. Lesson learned.
