Actually not BS at all. The inside of the tire is lined with about 4 of 5 inch layer of noise isolation foam around the circumference of the tire. I saw it when I removed my tires to have the rims powder coated black. I had never seen anything like that before.

I'm amazed how many people don't know about the wheels under the Areo caps.. buy black lug nut covers and center caps and you have a really nice looking wheel there.
