I called these guys yesterday to inquire about repairing my Tach. The needle is very bouncy when I down shift. It will swing 3k-4k back and forth for a few seconds before it settles. The guy I spoke to on the phone did not sound very confident that it was absolutely repairable. Said he would give it a shot. Didn't exactly inspire confidence. Cant recall the years these changed, but sometimes a swinging tach is an alternator/electrical issue and not per say, a "tach" issue. I know on my 914/6, my swinging tach was caused by a Voltage regulator issue.. the tach was fine.
