The interesting connection for me was I tried out for a team John Utendale was coaching in 1965 - I was cut after the first scrimmage - the advice given to me at the time was to to study harder, complete my education, then I could eventually go out & play some beer league hockey. I still sucked at hockey but had a ball thanks to Mr. Utendale.
