When I was a kid we lived in San Marcos, TX for a couple of years. It was a dry county, so if dad wanted alcohol he had to drive across the county line to the closest liquor store. That store was owned by the San Marcos area sheriff, and the local baptist preacher. Of course any baptists buying booze were never acknowledged by name and they were granted temporary catholic status until the crossed the county line again.
