I know it’s a stupid idea, but when I walk a house with a new owner, I tell them to turn the breaker all the way off and then all the way back on. You would be amazed at how many people can’t reset a breaker.

Electricity is not my forte, but can you test the wires coming in the box and see if there’s power?

Unless it’s connected down line from another GFI (???) or switch, shouldn’t power come directly from the breaker box?
