Remove the wires from the GFI (make sure they are touching one and other or near any metal). Turn on the main breaker, test wire and see if there's power coming out of the black wire or any other colors but white or green (or bare). If there's power on that wire, then you wired it wrong or the outlet is bad. This tell me from the breaker up to that point should be good. Do that first and get back to us. One way to check the breaker without running outside asking your wife to help is to ground that power wire. Sure you will get a little poof, go check which breaker tripped. That's your answer. Don't try this at home kids. We do it all the time, but not recommended by the union or any pros.
