China does make a lot of crap, and a lot of counterfeit stuff. For that they should be called out and held accountable. But at the end of the day it's us in the US and other developed nations who are just as at fault. China is just as capable of making anything to any quality standard that is required. Many high quality, high tech components and end items are made there. It's just we, as a society, are always looking for something cheaper. Chinese companies are happy to make anything at any price point. It's not their fault that we choose the lowest price point 90% of the time, so they flood the market with parts/components/assemblies/end items that are crap. IF we insisted on quality 'stuff' they'd make it, but it would be much closer to the price of parts made here so we're not interested.
