My car experience years covered the same time frame but my experience was much more ambitious.
Those were great years when for under $20k you could own, build, drive, experience and sell for a profit many interesting cars.
I've had an 85 El Camino and an 86 911 along with many trucks, muscle cars, sports cars, drag cars and road race cars.
To consider myself a car guy but own only 2 cars for 50 years, for a normal car guy that would be like taking an oath of celibacy.
Count me out.
