I used to check or adjust the valves on my 914 ever 3,000 miles at the oil change and the feel I have, the contortions needed to get to the 911 valves is the tough part for me. That and getting the heater blower out of the way, then the AC compressor, remove all the spark plug wires from the spark plugs, and getting the valve covers off just takes time when I am the world's slowest mechanic.
