Yea, I figure it was a $5,000 valve adjustment, as that is what I would charge to do a a 911 that was not mine.
Plus the cost of the oil, filter, spark plugs and valve cover gasket set and brake fluid.
The good news is I am set for another 15,000 miles or so. I went a bit over that this time from procrastination. With just the #1 and #3 exhaust valves just a tiny bit tight, I did not push too far. And it is certainly driven hard. It sees the redline regularly. Hallett next week will be 1/4 tank of gas to get there, 1/2 a tank on track, and a 1/4 tank to get home. The gas mileage on track is about 10 to 12 MPG.
