There are many people like Sugarpants who never look at these car value questions closely. Meaning for example, there is a huge difference between an unrestored LS6 Chevelle vs a clone or even a clone being passed as the real item.

Yes, I'll agree with this. CPO cars etc will always have serious value, but I tend to agree with Matt that its not really cross generational in the same way that really rare boutique cars are. And the "sorta" special cars-the clones, the ordinary 396 or Mopar 440 etcs will slowly lose value. They'll never be "cheap", but not appreciating, rather depreciating.
