Clogged sunroof drains leading to wet electronics is an extremely common and unfortunate thing on modern cars, all of them. Not a Cayenne specific issue at all. I've seen slightly older, (but not valueless), vehicles get effectively totaled from this exact situation, several times. If computers get wet and then corrosion sets in, the vehicle is toast.
The sad thing is that it's always 100% preventable by cleaning sunroof drains, (making sure that they are clear), BEFORE it happens. But absolutely no one does it or even thinks about them until they notice the water inside of the vehicle. I hate sunroofs in general but this is the main reason. Fatal design flaw. Tiny drain passages that easily get clogged w dirt or mulch.
