Sure. I did this with "Standard" 9.5 CR JE pistons in my 3.4L build.

I believe I used a 0.5mm base gasket (standard was 0.25mm I believe) which nets a 9.0 CR ratio. I'm currently running a non-intercooled setup at 7 PSI and its a blast.
