All of these images stuck with me, and came back when I decided to go look at Rolexes. I think the GMT is a beautiful watch, great concept, and super practical. I "get" the tool watch thing so I don't think they are pretentious. Maybe some Nouveau Riche take the "tool" part too much to heart but I digress...

I could not get around the unidrectional bezel of the GMT. I decided to go with a Sub. It's been posted here already so I won't put a picture up.

But my GF...hmm. I did get her a Rolex that she chose with a Jubilee bracelet, etc. It has a custom face etc. But being a Millenial, she lacks the patience to wear an automatic watch. She loves her Apple watch. Being a fitness fanatic, she likes the apps. I think the next generation probably won't wear watches at all, and will definitely not look at any kind of watch as luxury. In fact, they are probably going to be into things like less property rights, less individual accomplishment and reward, and more into things like collective socialist risk reduction and loss of freedom.
Magnum was my favorite show as a kid. i still watch the DVDs

anyway, i bought an apple watch. tried it a dozen times and tossed in my junk drawer never to be used again. i don’t like wearing the same thing on my body that everyone else has and well , the thing was uncomfortable and annoying

when i leave the house, i wear my Tudor Black Bay 36

As for rolex, if i could have any of them it would be the Milgauss. absolutely love it but i could do a lot with $8,500
