I like instant grits for breakfast. Cover them with a lot of salt, pepper and butter with scrambled eggs. Don't actually mix them, but scoop up some eggs with each forkful of grits. Bacon on the side. Maybe toast. Parents liked grits with over easy eggs or red eye gravy. When I was a kid, they had kids put sugar on them. I did not like them that way...and only started enjoying them as an adult.
