Since this all started with your fuel pump, I would check the wiring there first It is possible that when you tightened up the fuel line to fuel pump, you knocked one of the wires loose and it is grounding out.


Then I would check the ignition\starter circuit - looking for the same thing. Look under the dash around your ignition for crispy wires.

Would not advise you to try to start the car until you have this figured out. A short in one of the ignition or accessory circuits can cause severe damage to the wiring harness.
