When you dont know your history your narratives become skewed, with the tendency to find an easy target to blame. For instance the real reason Equities languished from 1968 to the mid 1980's is that the economy was moribund. By the 80s and Reagan,the credit..the sugar juicing of the economy began and money flowed into Equities. At first the detrimental effects were hardly noticed but as the debts grew larger we is now in the terminal stage of having a GLOBAL SOVEREIGN DEBT BUBBLE. You can tell by how weird things have become socially, economically and politically. It is all connected, one does not exist without the others.
The one thing that you can bet on is that those big shots who run things are confused. The do not understand what is happening. THE BIG SHOTS ARE DESPERATELY TRYING TO PRESERVE THE SYSTEM THAT THEY ARE RUNNING by applying the same old Conventional Wisdom axioms that seemingly worked before . They do not understand that without a broad based Middle Class consumer there isnt enough Demand to sustain the Global Economy of Scale. If they understood that premise they would understand the Global economy will collapse. That by printing and borrowing they are only delaying the ineviatable.

Btw..Like Humpty Dumpty the prosperous American consumer can not be put together again. The great wealth that Americans accrued during and after WW2 was an aberration of history. Very simply the circumstances that caused that great prosperity no longer exist. Americans now face Global economic competition where their high standard of living was going to decline. No body robbed or conspired against Americans they just continued to live it up like they was rich swells. Putting it all on the charge card. Ya see even the Big Shots are Americans who have the same basic perceptional American mindset that the USA is a rich nation. This fact is what all the Dummy commentators dont fkin get. Those Big Shots are not super smart omniscient Supermen.
