If an engine case has been replaced, then automatically it is no longer numbers matching.
If an engine has had work do, especially a full engine rebuild, then take nothing as given. For this car you will need several engine photos, and get part #'s off of the major components. Example, the MFI injection pump has a few numbers, all of which are important. The more the car deviates from original, the lesser the value. You really need someone with the expertise to evaluate the car properly.
