another satisfied CTEK 7002 user here too -- I connect the alligator clips directly to the battery's positive and negative terminals and then completely shut the trunk (wire's thin enough to comfortably compress under the hood seal and the hood seal's) generally leave the CTEK itself on the floor of my garage by the front bumper so I can monitor its status lights.
