Couple observations on the two different post brackets.

The cheaper one isn't as tight a fit as the Simpson and also the holes are larger so I had to use washers with my Deckmate screws.

I didn't mind the looser" fit so much because with the Simpsons I had to get up on a step ladder and pound the posts down into the brackets and it took a LOT of pounding to get them seated. Even with my mini-sledge. I will probably run a couple through bolts through these to 'double' secure them.
