Well, say you had a grandkid born today...you could always put the kid on the list and if he/she is a pool phenom at 15....If not, sell the cue and double your money.
Marketing...Southwest Cues, founded by Jerry Franklin, now run by his widow, refuses to crank up manufacturing, believing it will mean a reduction in quality. So two choices...wait or pay more to a dealer for a used one. A long term employment deal of sorts for those working at Southwest, I suppose..
