From what I was told the price increase is due to insane demand. In Florida, for example, we cannot sell houses fast enough, therefore we are building them as fast as we can which = huge lumber demands.

Just placed my lumber order, it normally costs me about $200 this time it was just north of $300 for the same order 4 months later.
This is junk pine I order used to stake construction sites.
I have been toying with trying out some reusable PVC Pipes to mark property corners on residential lot jobs. I may make some up and experiment with them and see how they hold up.
I really hate how wasteful it is to keep tossing down stakes over and over only to have them eaten by termites or run over by box blades. Maybe something more official looking will last longer and can be reused?
