It was a mag dump for sure. Sounded like about a dozen shots.
When someone is acting that crazy, has pulled a gun, and is in very close proximity, you don't know if they are on drugs and won't feel pain or have their adrenaline to the max. The correct response is to empty the magazine to ensure you hit something that will put them down.
