I don't think most folks are fighters, and if you start pummeling a non-fighter, there's a very really chance they are going to disengage.
I suspect most fights where one (even a 110# woman, who's presumably in great physical shape) member is a fighter, and the other member isn't, is probably going to go like the fight scene in Lake Placid.

She's not a fighter, she's trains in "sport" karate. Huge difference. Sport Karate is probably the least effective martial art in terms of fighting a bigger stronger opponent. I would argue "sport" karate is barely a martial art, its a sport.
Now if she was trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitu's or MMA I would agree because BJJ is predicated on fighting a larger/stronger opponent with live sparring at 100% intensity each training session. MMA is basically fighting so she would understand the ground game, take downs and striking.
Only knowing one aspect of fighting, in this case "sport stand up Karate" she is basically a one dimensional fighter at best. She would probably do okay against another girl her size, but a 200 plus lb. aggressive untrained man would demolish her.
Stop believing the movies like Atomic Blonde its all Hollywood. Unfortunately many women believe the Hollywood narrative, fortunately this girl had enough sense (probably due to her training) to understand the probable outcome, which is why she didn't engage.
