Arizona/Java good feedback . The timing belt on my 944S was just something I didn't want to do myself so had a " pro " do it . Maybe a defective belt or maybe a faulty install . I sold the car with the dead engine would like to not repeat if possible 😁 . If the same thing happened today I would install an LS motor to save the chassis.
