5 Porsche Concepts That Didn't Become Production Cars

I thought this was a pretty interesting, and eye-opening article (below). Some of, well ok probably all of, the concepts definitely might not have made the best impact on the brand, but they sure are interesting nonetheless!

Are you glad they never went to production? The rundown from the article below is:

Quote:
1. Porsche 911 B17 (1969)
The folks at Porsche commissioned a prototype Porsche 911 with a real back seat in 1969 with the help of Pininfarina. They stretched the stock floorpan nearly 8 inches, giving much needed leg room to passengers in back. In order for rear passengers of average height to fit in back, the roof line was radically altered, giving the car a hunched back look. Management was not happy with the new look of the car, and did not move forward with a stretched 911 2+2, which now lives in the pages of automotive history as the Pininfarina 911 B17 Concept.

2. Porsche Tapiro (1970)

3. Porsche FLA (1973)

4. Porsche C88 (1994)
In 1990s Porsche was facing financial difficulties and was trying to increase itīs sales also by participating in different tenders, which would help the company to improve itīs financial status. In1994 Chinese government announced a competition which required participating car makers to develop a compact saloon car for Chinese families. In 1995 the project was closed and the winners were never announced. Porsche decided to sell the C88 project to an Indian manufactuer that also didnīt produce.

5. Porsche Cayenne Cabriolet (2002)
The Cayenne Cabriolet isn't that far off from those Nissan Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet. The Tapiro definitely gives me a DeLorean vibe.
