Yes, 88s did not originally come with an emergency brake switch, but they were updated at some point and if the module has a 964 part number, which I remember mine does, you have to have the emergency brake on. This likely isn't your problem, but it may be worth checking the emergency brake sensor. If I recall correctly, there is a handoff that takes place from one motor to another in the sequence as the top nears vertical so it could be an issue there as well. Travel switch senses the open but the next switch not sensing the fully extended position as the top fully opens. Just shooting in the dark trying to help. Good luck!
