A few months ago, Honda announced a recall for all 2009-2011 Fits that are owned in the 'rust belt states'. The coating on the shafts was not correct and it could lead to an axle snapping.
They needed some time to stock enough axles for the recall. I heard others had done theirs lately so I called the Honda dealer yesterday about the recall. They had my vin on file and said they had an opening at 9am today for the fix. (The Dealer is thirty miles from my home)
20 minutes after dropping it off..I get a text saying I can pick it up.
I figured that they would tell me that mine didn't need replacing after inspecting them. (because it's a min 2 hr fix)
I get there and the lady service tech tells me that they need to re-schedule my car because they didn't have the correct parts in today.
I was kinda upset, and told her that was my reason for calling and asking if they were ready.
She answered...."We assumed your car was an auto/tranny...we don't hardly ever see a m/t in here for service"
GRRRR!
apparently the axles for an auto/tranny are different from an m/t
